Ziran Qigong, moving from within

Ziran means natural, arising by itself. In Ziran Qigong you invite your body to move of its own accord, with light stretches and relaxation, never forced. Every week in Abcoude.

“Feel more, do less.”

Do you notice that even when relaxing you’re still steering? That you want to do an exercise ‘right’? In Ziran Qigong you let that go. The movement arises by itself, from your breath and your attention.

It’s a flowing, meditative form that brings body and mind into balance. Gentle, yet powerful: you feel it deep into your connective tissue.

What is Ziran Qigong?

Ziran Qigong was developed by grandmaster Liu Deming, who lives and teaches in Australia. He combines centuries-old knowledge of energy, breathing, movement and inner development with modern research into what Qigong can mean today.

The exercises are built into a system that meets the needs of today. True to the traditional principles, but with a modern and accessible approach. It isn’t a medical or hard style, but a gentle one that fits beautifully with Tai Chi Tao.

What makes it special

Ziran Qigong is wonderful if you already practise Tai Chi and want to feel more and do less. Or if you’d like to work with tension, stress or blockages in a subtle way, through your breath and energy.

You’re also very welcome if you’re looking to deepen the inner experience of movement, or you’re curious about fascia stretches. No experience needed.

Questions about Ziran Qigong

No. Ziran Qigong is a perfectly good place to start, even without experience. If you already practise Tai Chi, you’ll find the two complement each other beautifully.

In the Tai Chi and Qigong classes you work with set, flowing forms. In Ziran Qigong the movement is freer and more spontaneous, with more emphasis on breath, Qi and letting go.

Fascia is the connective tissue that runs through your whole body. In Ziran Qigong you stretch it gently and slowly, without forcing. Many people experience this as a feeling of space and lightness.

The weekly Ziran Qigong classes take place in person in Abcoude. Qigong exercises are also part of the online classes.

You’ll find more about the style and about grandmaster Liu Deming at ziranqigong.com.
